Say Farewell Blue Whale-Beach Day

We had a beach party for our last day of Mommy and Me fun. We sorted seashells in circle time and played with sea animal puppets. We made beach collages and painted sand buckets in art. For snack we enjoyed yummy tropical sorbets inside of real fruit peels. Then we headed outside for some splish-splashing fun! (Sorry the pics are out of order). Bekah was sick and couldn't join us. We missed her a lot!

Rocket Day

Today we had Mommy and Me at Jamison's house. We put together a space floor puzzle during our gathering activity. During circle time, Miss Kim brought out a special machine that made star constellations on the ceiling of Jamison's bathroom. In art we made flying saucers and solar system pictures. For snack we made chocolate pudding in a bag like astronauts eat. We went outside and experimented with film canisters, water, and Alka Seltzer. It was fun to see how far the lids blew off into the air. Some went as high as the second story window, even though the directions said that they would pop off at waist level.

Then we went into the front yard and stomped on the nerf rocket launcher while we waited for the most exciting part of our day. Jamison's daddy stayed home from work to launch real rockets in the air for us! It was so cool. It was really windy so they didn't come back down anywhere we could see them. But we liked them anyways. Two of us decided we liked them better from inside of the house.

Flower Power

We painted lady bug flower pots for our gathering activity today. Then we had a fun circle time and learned about the parts of a flower and patterning. We painted sunflowers using our hands. We ate flower fruit pizzas. We went outside and planted flowers in our pot and then played hard outside.

Shapes

We only had three friends with us this week. We had a fun time learning about shapes. We really enjoyed the book Ms. Laura read to us during circle time. We had fun exploring with shapes in art class and learning to use scissors to cut out shapes. We ate yummy shaped sandwiches and oval grapes at snack time. During gross motor we danced to a song about shapes. We ended the day playing a shapes game with our mommies. (Sorry there aren't more pictures. Ms. Danielle wasn't with it this week).

This week we counted everything! We counted stickers as we did a one to one ratio activity in art. We counted cereal as we strung it on string. (or as we popped it in our mouths instead). We counted ingredients in our yummy snack mix recipe. We counted the number of bowling pins we knocked down. We counted cars as we sorted them into numbered garages. And we counted each other. There were zero Jamisons at Mommy and Me and we missed him!
